ABOUT BADGESSEE HOW OUR SYSTEM WORKS
WHAT ARE BADGES?
The Illinois State University Honors Program describes digital badges as this generation’s take on patches and medals issued by Boy & Girl Scouts and the military. Obtaining a degree doesn’t necessarily reflect a student’s ability to transition into the workforce. Digital badges provide employers with a convenient and evidence-based way to view job-relevant skills. According to the American Institute of CPAs, digital badges provide value to professionals in three ways:
Shows the world the knowledge and skills demonstrated to achieve the badge from a respected, credible source.
Helps professionals to publicize their accomplishments on social media, their website, and email signature.
Demonstrates that their knowledge is up to date.
HCIS understands that it is important to provide visual value & recognition and not just content value for our learners. In addition to earning continuing education contact hours for each course, learners will earn HCIS’ proprietary badges. There are three levels of badges to be earned for each specialized topic: Level I, Level II, and Mastery.
